President Rodrigo Duterte has appointed Major General Macairog Alberto as the new Commanding General of the Philippine Army.
Alberto will take the place of Major General Rolando Bautista who is set to retire from the military this coming October 15.
His appointment paper has been released to the Department of National Defense today, October 11, according to the Office of Executive Secretary.
In August last year, Duterte designated Alberto as head of the Intelligence Service of the Armed Forces of the Philippines.
Alberto, a classmate of retired police chief and now Bureau of Corrections Director General Ronald “Bato” dela Rosa, is a member of the Philippine Military Academy Sinagtala Class of 1986.
